We took the seasoned Campers Inn RV veteran aside to learn more about his 22 memorable years working at Campers Inn RV.
When did you start your career in the RV industry?
I believe it was February of 1993 at Campers Inn RV. This is my 22nd year at Campers Inn RV.
What is your most memorable experience in the RV industry?
The move from Campers Inn RV of Nashua to Merrimack was a pretty memorable experience. It was a big change in the company’s history, and it will always be something that I will remember.
What is your favorite part about working here at Campers Inn RV?
Because of my years of experience, it’s gratifying to be able to help others more easily. I can give a quick answer, because I have been around for so long. It makes all those years worthwhile when you can do something like that.
Do you camp? If so, where is your favorite spot?
I do enjoy camping, and my favorite spot is White Lake State Park in Tamworth, New Hampshire.
What do you like most about the RV industry?
Looking into the industry from the outside, it would be the lifestyle, the convenience, the ease, the freedom and the expectation of moving from place to place. It’s a modern day cowboy feeling where you can just get up and go.
What other work experiences have you had outside of the industry?
I’ve had some landscaping experience, flooring experience, carpet tile vinyl and warehouse experience. They were all short-term jobs until I joined the service team at Campers Inn RV.
You have been in the industry for a while. What keeps you here?
My experience in the RV industry would be hard for me to walk away from since I’ve spent so much of my life working at Campers Inn RV. To me, Campers Inn RV feels more like home then it does work. We spend so much time here together that we build more of a family relationship than co-workers.
Do you have any words of wisdom or advice for future employees of Campers Inn RV?
Take the time to learn from your mistakes and to fix them on your own. Never look for the easy answer. I had learned this throughout the years. I made mistakes and had to research and understand what I did wrong so that now I am able to give the quick and correct answer to a customer. New employees should be learning and understanding.
Do you have any advice for customers?
I would love to be able to share the insides of the industry and show how hard we actually work as employees of this company. I do the best I can to make them happy. I have been doing that for 22 years, and hopefully it shows that I always have and still do care about our customers.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for a new employee spotlight!
