We hope you all are enjoying some spring weather! Here at Campers Inn we not only want to help you find your perfect RV but we also want to help you get the most enjoyment out of it. In this blog post will we be discussing how to enjoy your motorhome to the fullest!
Towing and your MotorhomeDinghy Towing:
When it comes to towing you should ask yourself a few questions; how often do you plan to tow, are you concerned about appearance, is tow bar weight a concern, is ease of use a concern and is little to no maintenance important?
Depending on your answers to these questions there many choices for tow bars. Two type of tow bars that we recommend are the Blue OX A-Frame Tow Bar and the Self-Aligning Tow Bar. the A frame Tow Bar has a 5,000lb capacity, adjustable arms, it fits most blue ox base plates and has a three year warranty. The self aligning tow bar features a 5,000 lb capacity, it folds and stores on most cars, it has rubber boots that protect the legs from dirt and road grime and also features a three year warranty.
Like we said there are a lot of tow bars to choose from; some are very easy to use, don't cause permanent damage to your car and drive well. Campers Inn also offers a tow bar trade in program through Blue Ox.
Protecting your Dinghy Vehicle:
The next aspect of towing that you need to think about is protecting your vehicle while towing. Products such as KarGard exist to keep your vehicle from getting damage by rocks and debris kicked up during transit.
Driving Your Motorhome With Ease
One of the toughest aspects of driving a motor home is combating sway. Sway, also called body roll is a side to side weight sift that is caused by cornering and turning, road conditions, crosswinds, wind gusts or passing semi-trucks, added weight of the motor home and unequal weight distribution on the chassis. Though sway bars are used on almost every vehicle the manufacturer uses the very minimum they can get away with. To combat sway we recommend the the use of a larger aftermarket sway bar that will reduce body roll and give you much better control.
Another way to make maneuvering your motor home easier is to purchase after marketing steering controls. We recommend steering controls from Blue Ox, Tru Center, Roadmaster, SafeTPlus an Steer Safe. TruCenterr actually allows the driver to adjust the alignment and keep the coach straight.
Finally one product that will make navigating your motor home much easier, a back up camera. If you do not have a back up camera ask a fellow RVer who does why they are so crucial. I bet you any RV'er that has one will say it's a life saver.
