How to Tailgate the Right Way in Your RV

Written by Douglas Robichaud | November 11, 2015

Fall brings many awesome things: vibrant leaves, mild temperatures and most importantly…football! Every weekend, fans gear up in their home team’s colors and pack into football stadium parking lots to celebrate with frosty beers, tasty BBQs and yard games.

Tailgating is a great bonding experience for family, friends and neighbors, and there is no better place to do it than in your RV! However, hosting a legendary party from your RV isn’t a walk in the park. The party of the century takes a lot of preparation and planning, so we have put together a simple step-by-step guide to help you make the tailgating hall of fame.

Decorate Your RV in your home team’s colors

Tailgating is all about showing your team pride, so you need to trick out your RV with team themed decor! Team themed patio mats, awning lights, flags and much more can be purchased at your local RV dealer! There is a lot of room to be creative here, Campers!

How to set-up your TV’s cable outside of your RV

The party’s in the parking lot, so you are going to need a TV hooked up to cable outside of your RV. How else are you and your guests going to watch the pregame show or see your rivals lose?

The best satellite antenna you can buy is the Winegard Carryout G2. It is extremely easy to set up, lightweight and portable—hence the word “Carryout” in its title!

To get it going, all you need to do is place the Carryout G2 outside, hook up the coax cable to your satellite receiver and… BOOM!...satellite TV at your tailgate party! Furthermore, this dish can hook up to two receivers, so you can have two games running on two different TVs! The Carryout G2 is compatible with three popular satellite providers: DISH (Standard & HD), DirectTV (Standard), and BellTV (Standard & HD).

Of course, food is the most important thing you can bring to a tailgate party. The key to making delicious tailgate food is to cook the day/night before the game.
