How to Earn Money from your RV

Written by Carrie Stewart | November 29, 2022

There is something about the lure of the road. You can just hop in your RV and drive around to where you want to go. There are always places where you can breathe in fresh air, or you could go to tourist destinations that you have always wanted to see. While that seems great - you also need to make money. That way, you can keep the RV and also pay other important bills. There are a lot of remote jobs you can do on the road, one would be digital marketing since this job does not really require you to be on site - but there are many other ways that you could make money from your RV. So, you could have the best of both worlds, going out on the road and making money from the comfort of your RV instead of an office.

Blogging

There are hundreds and hundreds of topics out there. It's easy to find something that fits your particular interests. If you can write both authoritatively and passionately about it, you can build up an audience very quickly. You just need to do a bit of research about it to see what kind of competition you might have.

If you can answer questions about what people might be searching for, that can also put you high in the Google search rankings. You could monetize your blog in a faster amount of time than you might think. Once you get the ball rolling, you might just need to devote an hour or two a day to writing a blog entry.

Customer Service

Another great option is becoming a chat specialist for a number of companies. All you need to do is park somewhere and sit and answer people's queries, whether it is a billing issue or something else. There's no need to sit in an office to do this. Instead, you could be looking out your RV's windows at some of the splendors of nature while doing this job.

You could devote a few hours a day to doing this, which would then open up the rest of your time to doing the things that you want with your RV. This money could help towards gas and other supplies.

Photography

You're going to see a lot of wondrous sights while driving around. Why not take out your camera and capture them? There are a lot of photography websites out there where people would gladly pay to get prints of your photos. So that gorgeous sunrise over the trees of the national park? Capture it. Upload the photo to those sites. Make money.

The only decision you need to make is whether you want people to pay a royalty fee for the photo or if you put it out into the creative commons. If you want to make money, you want that royalty fee.

Social Media

Many companies out there are looking for social media managers. You could run a social media account for one of them while you are in your RV. It would be great if the company was related to something you would use during your travels. That would be a great fusion of your RV and your job.

Virtual Teaching

You can use your downtime to help others. Are you an expert in a particular field or subject? You could be a virtual teacher and explain it to those who need help with it. All you need is a working webcam and a stable connection. This way, you can make money and feel good about what you are doing.

Construction

Are you good with your hands? There are always construction companies that are looking for people to come work for them. If you are making a pit stop, you could always make some quick money for a few days.

Of course, you have to know and follow the safety precautions if you want this line of job. There are some risks connected and one of the less obvious ones is asbestos exposure which can be found in contaminated materials such as paint, masonry compounds and roof shingles. Once asbestos is inhaled, it may cause mesothelioma to the construction worker. You can read more about it by visiting TheMesotheliomaGroup. However, there are safety precautions for this risk by wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as disposable gloves, coveralls, respirators, and rubber boots.

As you can see, there are a lot of things to choose from. Other things include web design, writing, and editing, among others. You can certainly find something that fits your niche. The only thing that you need to worry about is being able to find a signal. There are often places where there is also free Wi-Fi - though you can also get portable Wi-Fi from an electronics store.

These jobs also won't likely take up too much time during your day. You can spend a few hours and then go enjoy yourself in your RV. Technology has really made this an ideal lifestyle for you to go on trips with your family and spend time with them.
