1.) Franconia Notch State Park

Franconia Notch State Park is located in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest. Franconia Notch is a spectacular mountain pass traversed by a unique parkway that extends from the Flume Gorge at the south to Echo Lake at the north. For eight miles, I-93 winds between the high peaks of the Kinsman and Franconia mountain ranges.

Franconia Notch was the home of the famous Old Man of the Mountain, the same "Great Stone Face" immortalized by Nathaniel Hawthorne and Daniel Webster. While you are here, stop at the Flume Gorge Visitor Center and walk through the renowned Flume Gorge, ride the exciting aerial tramway at Cannon Mountain, and visit the New England Ski Museum. Take your time, stop for a swim at Echo Lake, net a trout while fly fishing at Profile Lake, ride your bike on the Recreational Trail, watch for rock climbers, hawks, and falcons on Cannon Cliffs, or hike on the Appalachian Trail. Bring the family, stay awhile, and enjoy Franconia Notch State Park. 

Franconia State Park hosts the Cannon Mountain RV Park. This seven-site RV park, located on the north shore of scenic Echo Lake in Franconia Notch State Park, is open year-round. Three-way hook-ups are provided during the regular camping season beginning on May 26th, 2014. However, there is no water or sewer, including dump station, available from mid-October through May 1. RVs must be self-contained. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Bathrooms are available seasonally at the beach but are locked at night. In addition, many campers enjoy the convenience of winter RV camping at the base of popular Cannon Mountain Ski Area.

 

2.) Asheville North Carolina's Bear Creek Campground

Ashville North Carolina hosts beautiful mountain views, a wealth of outdoor activities, historical sites, shopping and if you are a craft beer aficionado some of the best craft beer breweries and pubs in the whole United States. With the beautiful scenery, Asheville is one of the best places to RV in the fall, especially at the Bear Creek Campground.

Bear Creek Campground is open year-round and offers large, level paved lots with full 30 and 50 amp hookups. Also, they have nice tent sites with water and electricity. They also have 25 pull-through sites (25’×60’), big rig sites, and 65 back-in sites (25’×50’).

Bear Creek provides showers, laundry, & a seasonal, heated pool. Easy access to I-40, I-240 and I-26. We have a Trailer Life Park Rating of 9.5, Restroom Rating of 10, and a Scenic Rating of 8.5. We provide complimentary Cable & Wi-Fi, and have same-day propane delivery available year-round!

3.) High Falls State Park, Jackson GA

Located northwest of Macon, High Falls State Park is named for tumbling cascades on the Towaliga River. Boat rental, ramps and fishing docks provide easy access to the park’s lake, known as one of Georgia’s top fishing spots for hybrid and white bass. Overnight visitors will enjoy a spacious campground and during summer, guests may cool off in the park’s swimming pool.
 
Visitors can hike along the river’s edge and through the hilly forest to the remains of a hydroelectric power plant foundation.  In the early 1800s, this area was a prosperous industrial town with several stores, a grist mill, cotton gin, blacksmith shop, shoe factory and hotel. High Falls fell from prosperity in the 1880s when a major railroad bypassed it.

4.) Fort Wilderness Resort, Lake Buena Vista, Florida

There is no better time to take a trip to Disney World than in the Fall. Not only will you enjoy the cooler Fall temperatures but since Fall isn't peak season for Disney World you will also enjoy lower park rates and campsite rates.
