8 Signs You’re Ready to Ditch Your Tent for an RV

Written by Douglas Robichaud | March 21, 2016

Let’s face it tent campers— there are some things you just can’t avoid on a camping trip. Whether it’s lousy sleeping conditions, unpredictable weather, or the lack of a kitchen to cook a proper meal on, tent camping can be a disaster. If you’re getting tired of being sore, wet and inconvenienced, you may be ready to upgrade to an RV.

Upgrading to an RV will take your adventures to new heights. You will have all the comforts of your own home while you’re on the road or camping – a bed, kitchen, bathroom, living room and loads of other awesome amenities. Furthermore, an RV will give you the opportunity to experience our beautiful country in style.

Below are 8 signs that you’re ready to transition from a tent to an RV.

1. When you would rather sleep in your car instead of your tent.

RVs offer an array of comfortable sleeping arrangements. The bigger the RV, the more room for people to sleep. Alongside the beds, even smaller RVs may have U-shaped dinettes and couches that pull out into a full-size bed. Small RVs can sometimes sleep up to six people! The bed sizes can range from king, queen, full and bunk house. A bunk house, aka bunk beds, is a fantastic choice for families with kids.

2. When you wake up soaked after a surprise nighttime rainstorm.

You won’t have to worry about weather conditions while you’re camping in an RV. It starts to downpour? Just run inside your RV and indulge in a good movie or book. Too hot out? Expand your RV’s awning and relax in the shade or hop inside where the AC is blowing strong.

3. When you arrive to your campsite at night and struggle to set up your tent in the dark.

Eliminate the worry of getting to your campsite before the sun goes down with an RV. Travel on your own time with no worries. Get to the campground at midnight if you want! Setting up is a lot easier when you’re camping in an RV.

4. When you realize beans, hot dogs and marshmallows are an unhealthy diet for a camping trip.

Most RVs come with a full-size kitchen. Some come with a full-size refrigerator, oven, microwave, as well as substantial counter space and kitchen islands. Cook extravagant meals just like you would at home for your family and friends with ease!

5. When you wish you could’ve brought all your fun motorized toys with you.

There is a specific type of RV designed with your motorized toys in mind. It’s called a toy hauler, and it has a mini garage at the rear for your motorcycle, ATV, bike, Jet Ski, moped and more!

6. When you find yourself staring at the ceiling of your tent thinking, “I wish I was sleeping in my bed right now.”

Get the best sleep of your life in an RV! You can doze off in a master bed even out in the middle of the woods.

7. When you get tired of waiting in a long line for the shower or pouring a cold bucket of water over your head.

Most RVs will have a shower. Imagine waking up in the morning and taking a nice warm shower to start your day. Just went on an intense hike? Hop inside the RV and recharge for as long as you like.

8. When going to the bathroom in a porta-potty gets old.

Never again will you have to use a porta-potty! Most RVs conveniently have bathrooms that will only be used by your loved ones.
