RV Owners Course: 11 Steps to Get Your Camper Ready for Summer!

Spring is right around the corner, and it's time to start prepping your rig for camping! Follow these 11 tips, and you can start the season off with a bang!

  1. De-winterize water system to drain anti-freeze and prep for use (learn more in our free de-winterization guide).
  2. Sanitize your RV’s water system with cleaner and deodorizer (learn more in our free de-winterization guide).
  3. For motorhomes, check all fluid levels and top off if needed. Start engine and check for proper readings on all gauges.
  4. Test jacks and levelers. Lubricate if necessary.
  5. Check generator’s oil level and inspect exhaust for damage.
  6. Inspect battery. Ensure it is fully charged, terminals are clean and water level is topped off (lead acid only).
  7. Inspect roof for cracks or separation. Seal with lap sealant if needed.
  8. Check window and door seals and reseal if needed.
  9. Clean roof and treat with Dicor UV protection.
  10. Wash and wax exterior.
  11. Get excited for amazing summer adventures!
