When shopping for an RV, people often ask if they need to buy a big new pickup truck to tow their camper. While most RVs do need a large vehicle to pull them, today’s manufacturers are producing ultra-lightweight models that can be towed by a crossover, an SUV or even a large sedan. 

These RVs are generally minimalistic, but they are perfect for people who just need a place to crash when they are out on an adventure. If you’re looking for a small travel trailer to take on the road, check out these four compact RVs with a dry weight under 2,600 lbs.

It’s built for campers with an active lifestyle, and it can carry equipment like kayaks, mountain bikes, surfboards, and more. Its large tires and high ground clearance make it perfect for off-road adventures. The 10.5 model features a 60” x 82” lounger that sleeps two, in addition to a slide-out grill and cooler. Plus, it has a dry weight under 2,000 lbs. so you can take it on the road without spending extra on a truck.

The well-appointed interior features solid countertops, a two-burner range and a 3.7 cubic foot fridge. The 180 model includes a kitchen slide, queen bed and dinette. It also includes a wet bath with toilet and sink and a four-speed MaxxAir® fan. The 180 has a dry weight of 2,662 lbs.

The E12RK has a dry weight of 1,072 lbs.

The 1640ESP model includes two tent end beds, a pull-out gaucho, and a sink with an optional refrigerator. The two-burner range can be carried outside, so owners can grill up delicious food under the 9’ awning. The 1640ESP has a dry weight of 1,722 lbs.
