That means it’s time to de-winterize both our RVs and our RV knowledge. Here at Campers Inn our purpose is to help you go RVing, so we have developed a few tips and tricks to help you transition your RV out of storage and onto the open road.** ## **De-winterize your RV Battery** When getting your RV ready for the open road is to give your RV battery a little TLC. One of the first things you should check is your RV battery’s water level and top off if needed. After you have checked your water level remove terminals and clean the posts. Then reinstall the terminals and treat with [battery terminal protectant.](http://www.campersinn.com/rv-parts.aspx)  Once those steps are completed give your battery a full charge! ![Battery Protector](https://blog.campersinn.com/hs-fs/hub/366142/file-603330177.jpg?width=606&name=file-603330177.jpg "Battery Protector") ## **De-winterize your RV Tires** Once you have checked your battery and its recharging it is time to move on to the tires. It’s always a good idea to check your tire pressure every time you hit the road but you definitely want to make sure to check tire pressure when you get your RV out of storage. De-witnerizing your RV’s tires is an often overlooked part of the process so while checking your tire pressure you should also make sure to check the condition of your tires sidewalls and tread depth keeping an eye out for any tire dry rot. ## **De-winterize your RV Roof** So now we have checked our battery and our tires, it’s time for one of the most important aspects of getting your RV ready for the road; inspecting, cleaning and treating your roof. One of the first things you need to do when it comes to your RV’s roof is to inspect it for any cracks or separation and seal if need with [lap sealant](http://www.campersinn.com/rv-parts.aspx). ![RV Roof Sealent](https://blog.campersinn.com/hs-fs/hub/366142/file-599640948.jpg?width=714&name=file-599640948.jpg "RV Roof Sealent") It’s also a good idea to not only check the roof seals but also your RV’s window and door seals and re-seal if needed.
