Do you love to make friends while you are RVing? Are you always inviting people over to your site for a cookout or a nightcap? Check out these three ideas to make your next RV get-together even more fun!
1. Travel Tales
When you are hosting campground friends in your RV, you have a natural topic for conversation: travel and adventure.
Spread a map of the United States on a table, and ask everyone to pick out their favorite state or destination. Go around the room and have each person tell a story from the place they selected.
Soon, you’ll have a room buzzing with hilarious anecdotes, recommendations and future plans. See if you can have someone tell a story from each state in the country!
2. Late Night Stargazing
Outdoor activities don’t have to stop when the sun goes down.
When you are camping, chances are you’re close to some prime stargazing locations. At your next party, have each person grab a flashlight and a blanket, and head out on a nighttime hike. Try to get as far away from other campsites as you can.
Once you find the perfect spot, switch off your flashlights, set your blankets down and lay on the ground. See who can identify the most constellations. Keep an eye out for satellites and shooting stars (don’t forget to make a wish!). Your guests will love marveling at the galaxy of lights in the sky above.
3. Celebrate Your Destination
Give your next RV shindig a memorable theme by celebrating the culture and cuisine of the area you are camping in.
Find a recipe for a local specialty you can cook in your camper, and shop for decorations that will evoke the character of the place. In Texas? Hang up a cowboy hat and grill some steaks. Maine? Buy moose posters and serve lobster rolls.
You can even play local music or screen a movie set in the area. The more you embrace the local culture, the more connected you and your guests will feel to the place you are camping.
